Presence and Grief - A Practice for Healing

Presence and Grief - A Practice for Healing

Description

Everyone's experience with loss and grief is unique. Everyone's journey through healing will be also distinct. Everyone must traverse their life in their own way.

In this workshop participants are offered a modest mindfulness practice of Presence to help them on their path of life and healing. Each person is invited to seek clarity and solace by practicing three different intentions along this particular journey:

  • to Witness
  • to Honor
  • to Release

Participants will be allowed to create personal practices in the safe environment of a supportive group, where clear boundaries are respected and individual choice is paramount.

Intention

The goal of this workshop is to give each participant a small set of mindfulness practices that they can invoke anytime to ground themselves in the present moment, and strive to release some of the immense burden of grieving and living with loss.

Presence

Enduring grief and loss is so exhausting and so often debilitating, it's impossible to see sometimes how to even survive one more day.

This workshop focuses on presence --the practice of being true with this moment... and this one, and engaging life at the pace of one breath at a time.

Being present with one breath is sometimes all we can handle. It is sometimes to only span of time where the pain does not engulf us completely.

Class Format

Using a gentle mix of basic yoga & sitting meditation, guided imagery, empathetic sharing and personal writing, each person will be offered a chance to witness, to honor and to release. The practices learned will be blended with each person's unique self-healing and survival strategies to allow all participants an expanded possibility of surviving their loss and enduring their grief with grace and love.
